Awards are available to all students at Kw'íyeqel Secondary, however some awards are only suitable for graduating students.
These awards are subject to change and are currently under review for the following school year.
Significant Achievement
Student who has overcome significant barriers to be successful at school. (Social emotional learning) Skills demonstrated that are not necessarily shown in course completions.
- Students will receive a certificate.
Citizenship
Service to school and community.
Students will receive a certificate.
Student should attend school on a regular basis, kind and respectful to peers and staff.
Should consistently show an effort to give back to school or community.
Academic Achievement
Students with a high level of achievement considering the number of courses taken and the marks achieved.
Minimum of 5 courses completed.
Students will receive a certificate.
Service Award
Student who has gone above and beyond helping staff and students with school programs or projects.
Top Graduate
Highest achievement level among all graduating students.
One award will be presented in this category.
Students will receive a trophy and the school will display a trophy.
Principal’s Award
Overall top student in achievement, citizenship, and leadership.
One award will be presented in this category.
Students will receive a plaque and the school will display a trophy.
